DISCOVERY SCHOOL
DISCIPLINE PLAN
EXPECTATIONS
1. Respect
2. Responsibility
3. Good Manners
STEPS OF THE
DISCIPLINE PLAN
1. VERBAL WARNING
Student is reminded of the rules and
expectations of their classroom and reminded of the consequences if they
continue with their poor choice of behavior.
2
FIRST CONSEQUENCE FOR POOR
BEHAVIOR
If a student’s behavior does not improve after
the first verbal warning, they will be given a form of “timeout”. The timeout should be a quiet, secluded
time of 3-5 minutes for the student to consider their actions away from the
rest of the class.
3
SECOND CONSEQUENCE FOR POOR
BEHAVIOR
Teacher and student will conference on why the
student is unable to abide by the rules and expectations of the classroom and
come up with a plan to deal with the unwanted behavior. Possible solutions include: work time in a different classroom and
loss of privileges.
4
FINAL CONSEQUENCE FOR POOR
BEHAVIOR
If a student fails to respect the rules and
expectations of the classroom after a teacher has implemented the first three steps
of the discipline plan the teacher will then make a time for the student to
discuss their behavioral problems with Ms. Cristiana. The teacher at this point is obligated to contact the
student’s parents and explain what happened, and the difficulties the student
is having with respecting the rules of the classroom.
